Where the wild things are! Clay Art

Today we read "Where the wild things are". A classic story which everyone knows! Today Room 8 imagined their own monster in their minds! Then put them into action on clay! Here is how they came out!

Busy week in Room 8

It's Friday and what a busy week it has been. So many highlights to share!

Thursday and Friday highlights were working on our tape art. We started with a sheet of glossy paper (silver or gold). We then put masking tape on to create different shapes. Then we painted over the everything. Once it dries we remove the tape and see our amazing creations. Stayed tuned for the final product!

Friday we had assembly and Camila won the Ultimate Kid in the Glen award. She has been an amazing student in the classroom and in the playground helping our new kids make friends. She has an amazing heart and cares for everyone!
Also Spiderman made an appearance at Assembly, some people suspect it was Mr Sheaff but we will never know for sure.

Mr Sheaff the construction worker!

After morning tea break, something strange happened. Mr Sheaff came outside to bring the class in and he was wearing all this strange stuff!
On the mat we discussed what this stuff was. I had a high visibility vest, hard hat, ear muffs and pants. We figured out this is what you would wear if you were working on a construction site. We all went to draw and label our picture of Mr Sheaff the construction worker.

Week 2 in Room 8

The days are flying by!

We had an amazing event on Thursday with Pizza in the playground! It was great to see all the families and members of the community turn out to meet the teachers.
Mr Pirihi spoke to the crowd and explained the "Step up the talk" program to everyone.

We had free pizza, the pool open, chalk drawing, face painting and volleyball all happening.

Friday we had a full school assembly. Congratulations to Camila and George for getting certificates for showing kindness and showing initiative in the classroom.

Here are some photos from this week.
